Resource - Frequently Asked Questions
How do I donate?
We are currently fully funded by the Collegiate Paddlesports Association, so we have not provided a process for making donations. At some point in the future this may change, but for now we only ask for your enthusiastic support of distance racing.
Do you allow advertising on the web site?
While we do provide links to resources that we feel might be helpful to athletes, we do not accept paid advertising. Our primary sponsor does not offer products or services for sale.
Do you share personal information?
We do not.
How do you select events to be listed on the web site?
We include events that we feel promote distance racing excellence. The factors we consider include the following:
-
Must have at least one course with a distance of 5k or longer.
-
Must be open to all paddlers, i.e. not restricted to club or affiliated members only.
-
Must have age, gender, and craft classes that group competitors with similar opportunities for success.
-
Must have one or more online race information pages.
-
Must post race results online.
Do you cover all types of human powered craft?
Paddle competitions are offered for a wide variety of craft. However, there are practical limitations to the number of craft that can be fostered through a volunteer group. Our focus, therefore, is on the following:
-
K1 ICF sanctioned craft
-
K2 ICF sanctioned craft
-
C1 ICF sanctioned craft (high kneel)
-
C2 ICF sanctioned craft (high kneel)
-
C1 Seated Canoe
-
C2 Seated Canoe
-
Solo Surf Skis
-
Tandem Surf Skis
-
High Performance Kayak
-
Outrigger Canoe (OC1)
-
Outrigger Canoe (OC2)
-
Standup Paddle Board (SUP)
